Simplicity: Learning to Live with Margins

The invitation to follow Jesus is not a call to busyness. "Come to me all you who are weary and I will give you rest."

Jim & Paula Misloski

Look hard at the photo because this is the only time you'll see Jim wearing a tie. Jim and Paula, helped start Loveland Community Church in 2003. Jim was recruited as the lead pastor in 2004.

Jim graduated from Missouri State University in 1985 with a BA in Art and earned his Master of Divinity from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in 2005. Because of a twenty-year career as a commercial artist and creative director, art is still a significant part of his minstry style. Every now and then he delivers what he calls, "Paintings That Preach." These are biblical messages illustrated by a significant work of art. Jim dreams of seeing the church filled with art that inspires us all to see our Heavenly Father more clearly. In addition to serving as pastor of Loveland Community Church Jim serves as a church starter coach to two networks of church leaders called the Northern Lights Church Planting Network and the Northern Lights Simple Church Network.

Have you read a good book lately? If not, ask Paula for a recommendation. Paula is a graduate of Missouri State University and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management. She currently serves as the librarian at Edmundson Elementary School in Loveland. She is also raising three amazing children named Perry, Ellen and Davis.

Not Just a Church but an Amazing Network of Love
Loveland Community Church was started in May of 2003 by Immanuel Community Church in Fort Collins. Both churches are part of a network of Baptist churches in the west called the Longs Peak Baptist Association. Each of the churches in this network govern themselves independently and yet they voluntarily pool a percentage of their funds to support more than 5000 church leaders all over the world through the International Mission Board. In addition, the funds provide much of the food that the Red Cross serves as a first responder to disasters like 911, Hurricane Katrina and the Windsor tornado through the North American Mission Board - the third largest disaster relief agency in America! When people find themselves without their homes we show up with portable showers, mobile laundrymats, childcare facilities, food, clothing and love.
